Remote learning during Covid 19 lockdown

In this case study we examine how uEducateUs helped Tyers Primary School during the Covid-19 lockdown of 2020.

Problem overview

In April 2020, the Victorian Government declared schools would close for Term two to decrease the spread of the Covid-19 virus in the state.

This meant schools needed to implement remote learning processes in a short timeframe.

In addition, parents were reluctant to use the system because of inexperience, despite having accounts and smartphone apps. They prefer direct communication with teachers and staff and hardcopy information.

Ten children of essential service workers attended school during the lockdown, whilst the remaining 90% studied from home.

Solution summary

Tyers Primary School was able to take advantage of specific built-in features during this time.

Teachers created announcements to explain schoolwork which were sent direct to parent accounts.

Parents then logged into uEducateUs to provide schoolwork to their children. Despite initial reluctance to use the system, reports suggest they found the system simple to navigate and use.
